SIZE CHARTS
All size charts are listed below alphabetically.
A few helpful things to know for reading the size charts:
-
Some customers say our pants run larger than most brands but that's because we build in a lot of ease in our pants and start with a size XL when grading our pants up and down.
- Because all of our pants have an elastic waist you can teter between sizes based on how you like your clothing to fit (ie looser or more fitted).
- Most pieces are designed to have about 5-9 inches of ease in the bust and hip, depending on how oversized you prefer your fit. That means you can take your measurements and add 5-9" to those to find your standard Nettle fit.
- For the waistband, the flat and stretched measurements show the full range the waistband can comfortably go from its smallest to its largest. You want to find your sweet spot within that range based on how snug or relaxed you prefer your fit. The only rules from us: stay at least 4-5" engaged (waistband flat should be 4-5” smaller than your waist) and never size up to where your waist is larger than the stretched measurement.
If you're particular about fit and don't like using a local tailor for alterations, we SUPER recommend measuring another similar piece in your closet with a fit you love, then match each measurement as closely as possible to our charts! Or just email us hello@nettlestudios.com :)
* BALLOON PANT SIZING RECOMMENDATIONS: we recommend buying the same size in the balloon pant as you do in the barrel and mid easy even the recommended ease in the hip is more for this style. we like to recommend between 15"-25" of ease in the hip on these to maintain their balloon shape. example: with a 51" hip, go with an 2XL -- that gives 23" of ease in the hips which will be such a nice shape but if you want them more fitted go with an XL and you'll have 21".
* BARREL PANT SIZING RECOMMENDATIONS: we recommend buying the same size you do in all of our other pants and we usually say 5"-10" in the hip will give more customers their desired fit. example: with 51" hips, we'd suggest a 2XL which would give a great amount of ease and be comfy and not cling to the body. you could go with an XL and that would give you 6" of ease in the hips which is on the lower end of the recommendation but can still be a good fit based on personal preference. if you are worried about it being too tight or are sensitive to elastic, go with the 2XL.
